Solar Weave Thermal Collector Panel
S-PEGS
S-Pegs has taken the solar collector to a higher level with the design and manufacture of the "Solar Weave" (Patent pending 61/209,739) These collectors are assembled using the highest quality materials available, providing the most efficient, yet durable product that you can depend on for years to come. The Solar Weave's unique one piece solid body structure results in rigidity for durability no other collector has.
Our products are constructed of 100% recyclable materials, right down to the insulation installed that retains heat and protects YOUR investment.
S-Pegs hot water systems can accommodate any type of application; residential, commercial, industrial, or utility. These systems generate extremely high performance and are environmentally friendly. S-Pegs products are designed to generate no pollution and cause no damage to the environment.
- Tubing Grid - 1/2" copper pipe risers are brazed to 3/4" copper pipe headers to create a manifold with optimal flow.
- Absorber Plate - 14" alternating copper ribbons are woven through the risers and hemmed to to the frame.
- Insulation - 2" foil-faced rigid insulation is placed under and around the sides of the absorber plate providing an R - Value equal to most refrigerators.
- Back Plate - 18 gauge aluminum providing maximum strength, durability, and barrier against the outside elements (Mother Nature and varmints).
- Solar Glass Glazing - 3/16 " energy efficient glazing allows a 5/8" space for air to circulate the radiant heat
- Frame and Casing - 18 gauge aluminum unibody provides a streamline appearance, most closely resembling a skylight. Allows easy installation on roof, deck, or slab.
- Gaskets and Sealants - All parts are sealed with lifetime EPDM and/or Silicone/Acrylic guaranteed to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Only the highest quality materials are used from suppliers such as Goodyear, General Electric, Alcoa, and other high quality suppliers. S-Pegs enjoys being placed in "The Best of the Best" category of totally manufactured in the U.S.A. products.
How The Solar Weave Came To Be the Next Big Thing
The origins of the Solar Weave came about one day when, out on a rather brisk day, I naturally turned my face toward the sun. My natural instinct was to get as much of my body directly in perpendicular plane to the sun to absorb the maximum amount of heat. Perpendicular rays from the sun are always the hottest!
This led me to re-examine the conventional flat plate solar collector and think of the weave. The weave process, in the Solar Weave, allows the sun’s direct rays to stay perpendicular for a very long time, much longer than a flat plate collector, such that the mass absorbs nearly 30% more radiant heat gain. By increasing the amount of perpendicular exposure to the direct rays of the sun, the Solar Weave process enables collection of heat in a much smaller square foot surface. And, it is gathered for a longer period of time. This smaller footprint (3’-0”x6’-0” versus 4’-0”x10’-0”) allows for efficiencies in both size and handling. Plus it is much more lightweight, extremely durable, and aesthetically pleasing.
